Citrix – ShareFile

When we stop to think about how the internet has changed in last ten years it’s almost unbelievable.  When the internet first started, most people didn’t know how to handle it and to get to the position that we are today is just awesome.  Most PowerPC users are old enough to remember how things were in the early 1990s and now twenty years later we see that the most common thing is to share information and sync devices on the cloud..,it’s just a common fact of computer life now!  A while ago, I was very impressed because Google released a new operating system entitled Google Chromium, which ran on the web, which I thought would change everything, especially the way we purchase computers.  The cloud services were also something which improved and brought everything to another level in a short time span.  Citrix ShareFile is thinking ahead and decide to hone in and focus on the business market.

Citrix ShareFile – It’s easy to use, Professional and Secure.  It’s the easiest way to share large business files with your choice of one person or a hundred.  Just click to send a file link on a navigation bar, enter an e-mail address and upload your file.  It uploads files up to 10GB in size. Desktop tools, mobile apps or just launch your browser to manage your account.

Citrix also offers Secure Virtual Data Room.

Jers Novel Writer – PowerPC

My Facebook friend Gregory will be very happy because I finally got some time to check  out the application that he mentioned on Mac PowerPC’s Facebook Page a long time ago, which I had bookmarked but never had enough time to get to.  Here you go!

* Jers Novel Writer 1.1.12 – (Demo $30.00) – http://jerssoftwarehut.com/jers-novel-writer/download-jers-novel-writer  – PowerPC friendly Panther / Tiger / Leopard – 10.3/10.4/10.5 – It’s a simple but not restricted writing application.  I’m very impressed with the quality of this word processor, as it has everything to keeping you writing and saving your ideas without messing things up.  It has a main window like any other word processor but the coolest feature is that it has a tab running along the side that allows you see all your other saved projects!  It also has a notes tab that allows you to post all your brainstormed ideas and subjects that keep you on track as you write.  In my opinion, this is great software that totally deserves to be installed on your machine.    Attention Writers:  Now it’s time to make your Mac buddy work a little bit harder.

HDRtist PowerPC / HDR Photos

I have some very very good news for PowerPC users that love to take pictures and play around with them.  Recently I got an e-mail from one of my readers asking me if I had some recommendations for HDR software.  Well, to be honest I didn’t even know what HDR photos were, so I went to Google and “Browser, Browser, on the Mac, can’t you show me what the heck is HDR Imaging?” and this what my first stop before a second search – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-dynamic-range_imaging .  Now knowing what HDR was, it was time to dig up PowerPC compatibly and after some research I came out with this application that I’m looking forward to sharing with my readers!

HDRtist – 1.2.0 (Free) PowerPC friendly Tiger / Leopard / 10.4/10.5 – http://www.ohanaware.com/hdrtist/ – You guys can download it straight from this web-site, on the corner where it says “New Version:1.3.2” there is a drop-down and if you click it, you will see the PowerPC listed.  This application is as simple as drag and drop with a streamlined interface, your photos will never be the same.  The results are very professional.  HDRtist Pro is also available, but I recommend that you contact the developers to make sure they are still providing the right license for your version.

Bento for Mac PowerPC

I believe most Mac users are very organized when it comes to their data, music, movies, office, set-up, etc, etc.  So to find an application that helps you to organize your database is very important.  For example, iTunes is great piece of work that puts all your music on track.  Anyways, this post is not about music, it’s about Bento for Mac.  This software is unbelievably easy to use as it organizes all of your important information in one place.  You can manage and sync your contacts, address book, iCal, iPhoto, To Do Items into your project as easy as drag and drop.  The latest version 4 is for Intel only, but after doing some research and installing old versions I found out that 3.0.6 is fully compatible with PowerPC 10.5.  Bento is not free, so before you guys purchase please contact FileMaker and make sure they are still providing the right license for your version.

Roccat to Russia

I think our favorite list of browsers have just increased!  Right now my top 5 are of no secret to anyone and I always post about them.  TenFourFox, AuroraFox, WebKit Leopard, SeaMonkey and Camino/Omniweb are basically the guardians of browsers for the PowerPC, but Roccat Browser surprised me a lot.  It’s very fast to browse the internet and the good news is now we are able to watch videos on Youtube without that annoying pause and delay!

Some features like FusedBar and Facebook/Twitter integration is also a plus. Ad-Remover is a really nice touch and I have to mention that I like the clean layout, and the visual tabs are able to be positioned anywhere you prefer.

Let’s show some love and spread the word for all the PowerPC community and make sure that the people behind this project know that there are PowerPC users using this Browser so they will still (I hope) create updates for our system!

Roccat Browser 3.0 (Free) – http://www.runecats.com/roccat.html PowerPC – Leopard/10.5.

You guys can leave some comments for the developers here: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/37403/roccat-browser make sure to mention you are running their software on a PowerPC.

P.S.: For the tittles I’m taking reference from some music or records.
