iScroll2 + Scroll Reverser for MacPowerPC

I found these great apps that it may help someone out there having the same issue that I was couple of weeks ago.

Some of my browsers were really out of date and I found out that TenFourFox seems to be the one to use as default.

Browsing in an iBook it’s not a easy task if you don’t have a mouse plugged in. My trackpad doesn’t have features like scrolling so I found an app that it does the job for me.

iScroll2 – can be download here > http://iscroll2.sourceforge.net/

Second app is Scroll Reverser, well long short story it does reverse the scrolling.
Scroll Reverse – can be download here > https://pilotmoon.com/scrollreverser/

And if you are wondering TenFourFox > http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

2018 iBook G4 Still ON

Well, it’s definitely awhile since we posted here in this blog.  Now we are wondering if our MacPowerPC community still using their PPC computer out there.

I took my iBook G4 and give it a try and for my surprise still turning on.  I know we are so 2000Late but it’s a beautiful machine and as much as it struggle to do some tasks it’s hard working machine.

Next I will try to catch up where I stopped and see what I still can find out there for our PPC machines.  I had so many I would like to share but I got into a really busy years 2016/2017 that I couldn’t focus in doing anything else.  I missed going to my Heavy Metal concerts and posting here and now it’s time to put some music on and dig deep for those lost apps that it will make the different (If you still using PPC).

2018 PPC still on.

Thanks

Djay for Mac PowerPC

Who doesn’t want be DJ?

I would say that djaying is one of the most time consuming thing to do with your computer if you are into music and throw party to friends.

Sad news to get the newest Macbook Air or Macbook Pro just to djaying is very expensive, so why not look for an old cheap option like PowerBook  or iBook, most of people won’t know the different unless you are using a very cool colour iBook G3 or a PowerBook Pismo/Wallstreet that the Apple logo is upside down.

Either way you can install a old version of Djay (3.1.2) totally compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.  Of course there are some limitations when you compare the most recent 4.2.3, but the application run just fine and you will rock the party… …as long as your music rocks, of course.

Have fun guys.

EagleFiler Organize e-Mails, Web Pages, Files, etc…

The question before I write this post is Why we do not save our documents?  I just lost my entire post because of sheer laziness…  Lesson learned and now it’s time to move on!

We have been posting here for awhile now and my PowerPC friends know that I always try to find free or low cost applications to share for many reasons.  Sometimes I come across some non-free applications that I think my readers would be interested in, and post them anyways.  These products often have features that the free ones do not…

EagleFiler 1.5.10 (Demo) – PowerPC 10.4 – Tiger / 10.5 – Leopard.  It’s an easy way to archive and manage all your documents, and various other pieces of information including e-mails, web pages, etc.  Organize everything into folders and add tags and notes to make it easier to search for later!

http://c-command.com/eaglefiler/  (Go Support for the version 1.5.10).  The new version is not compatible on PowerPC.

Back with Frets on Fire

Let’s get back on track, now MacPowerPC is running an application test on an iBook G4 (1.07GHz + 1.25GB Ram) and that my dear readers is quite good!  I will still be looking for something more power like PowerMac G5 (dual) with 4GB Ram but this is a search for the future, and all the document processing we are doing on a PowerBook G3 (Pismo – 400MHz + 320MB Ram) Running 10.3.9.  We decide to share the work because some applications ask to save your work for you, but sometimes others just restart automatically and if you are typing the material you lose it.  Anyways…

We all know about Guitar Hero, so I would like to share an incredibly funny game that runs on our favorite processor.

* Frets On Fire – 1.3.110 (Free) – PowerPC 10.4 or later.  It’s really fun to play this cross platform game.  It’s like playing Guitar Hero on your PowerPC.  Don’t waste your time, download now and start having fun! – http://fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/

#Twitter Clients for PowerPC pt 1+1

All Mac PowerPC users are well aware that when it comes to Social Networking our applications are limited.  It’s hard to find something that might work well for Mac OS X Tiger.  In fact it’s virtually possible to find options for  the Mac OS X Leopard.  I actually still prefer use a good old fashioned Browser, when it comes to searching for these types of media.  But this post doesn’t end here, previously we mentioned some applications for Twitter and we got really great feedback from our readers and I wanted to share some  more options with you here.  the list starts with:

* Echofon 1.5.7 – Twitter Client (I didn’t find a safe web-site to download from, but as far as I can ascertain, this version might work on PowerPC 10.5 / Leopard.  If you find or have a safe .dmg file please share with us. http://mac.brothersoft.com/echofon.html / Echofon download here: http://www.milocker.com/pg/file/read/79630/echofon-for-leopard-powerpc Thanks @rjCalifornia

* YoruFukurou 1.65 PowerPC 10.5 / Leopard https://sites.google.com/site/yorufukurou/home-en Download here – http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/35286/yorufukurou

* TwitQwik 2.0.0 (Free) Fastest way to tweet. – http://mac.brothersoft.com/twitqwik.html

* Twit Menulet 8 (Demo $6.00) – PowerPC friendly 10.3 / 10.4 / 10.5 – http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/32331/twit-menulet – With this app it will allow you to check your tweets from a menu bar.  Never was it so easy to keep Twitter on and check as many times you want.  If anyone is running Panther, please let me know if it worked out for you!

SafeSleeve: The All in One Radiation Blocking Laptop Case

I don’t know if every reader of this blog shares my philosophy that too much protection is never enough, when it comes to technology.  In line with this mantra, the first thing I usually do after purchasing new or second hand electronics is to buy some hardware protection.  It is my style to ensure I buy this from a different store that I purchase my hardware from, as I’m always looking for a better deal.  BTW – Excuse me Apple Store, I don’t think I would ever pay that much money for a Michael Kors case!  I’m not questioning the quality but the price is just off the charts!  At the end of the day, it’st just a sleeve!  Anyone that watches Project Runway knows that at the end of the day the most expensive part of merchandise is the name attached to it.  Now, I know that It’s not my job to decide if the price is right or not, but I’m a customer and as a customer I would appreciate someone that could think ahead and create a laptop sleeve that brings more usuability to the customer.  I’m pleased to announce that this isn’t crazy talk because someone (actually 2 people) really thought outside of the box and created SafeSleeve!

This project is still searching and raising funds to start putting this excelent Sleeve out there.  SafeSleeve goes beyond just keeping your laptop protected…in fact, it actually protects you from your laptop!  SafeSleeve is a multi-functional laptop accessory that provides protection for your computer when on the go and in use; and most importantly, personal protection from Electromagnetic Field (EMF) Radiation.

SafeSleeve also provides a desktop workstation that includes a mouse pad and is optimized to allow airflow to your laptop on any surface.  In my opinion, this is a great touch, especially for those that are travelling all the time, as it’s not practical to rely on the provisions of your airplane seatback support, or the scratched, dirty surface of your local coffee shop.

SafeSleeve is a lightweight, sleek and stylish sleeve that will fit and protect most laptops.  This combination of features, its sleek and stylish design, and premium quality makes SafeSleeve a must own for any laptop user.

ViVaX Laptop Case – I Got to Move Like Bond

When I got this e-mail, I thought why not spread the word because I know many of my readers would be looking for a product such as this.  I’m pleased to present to all of you, the VIVAX LAPTOP CASE!  Aptly nicknamed the 007 Case, it is virtually indestructible!  I recommend this product to everyone, but especially to those who live in places that have snow and rain, because your laptop is an investment, and you need to protect it.  You spent a great deal of money to get a good machine and as soon as you step outside the store, it already starts to depreciate.  While the PowerPC currently doesn’t hold  great worth in the technological marketplace, it is rapidly becoming a collectors item, and as such, needs to be kept safe and operational, to protect it’s value.

The ViVAX laptop case bills itself as being Waterproof, Crushproof, Shockproof, Dirt proof and 100% Made in Italy.  It fits laptops with screen sizes between 12” to 18”.  So far they are available in 2 colors (The Dark Case / The Orange Case).

This is a KickStarter project and for more information you can contact the person behind this project Mr. Mattia, you will find all the informations here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mattiaventura/vivax-the-best-portable-laptop-protection-system-a

I recently got an e-mail from Mr. Mattia and he said that The ViVaX laptop case will be available in 90 days.  I’m very excited to see the results and look forward to see a hardcore laptop case that can take a tough trip to anywhere  because you guys know very well how tough travelling with laptops is, what with passing through customs, airplane turbulence, and generally transporting through airports etc.  Travel in style, just as James Bond would, and be secure in the knowledge that your PowerPC will arrive with you, just the way you packed it!

Widgets for Mac PowerPC (ClassiCalculator / iBook)

Bring life to your dashboard with one of these widgets!  They are not “the big deal” but they’re cool little apps that will help keep your machine in the “now”;

*ClassiCalculator – PowerPC – ClassiCalculator it’s a widget that reminds us how applications looked a few years ago.  You can download here: http://cl.ly/2K3b2M15462U

*iBooks – PowerPC – This widget only allows you to access the iBook Store from your Dashboard.  I was wondering if we could actually read our iBooks from the Dashboard, which would be very helpful and cool.  Anyways you can download it here: http://cl.ly/1y3v3b3L280E

iBook Guy for Mac PowerPC

iBook Guy For Mac PowerPC

Has anyone ever heard about the iBookGuy?  Well if not, I think all PowerPC users should visit his web-site – http://ibookguy.com, he has many tips about how to get the most out of your machine.  He’s also got tips on how to disable a few tools that you probably won’t use very often, so that way you will have more free memory ram.  When visiting this web-site,  check out the “video production” he made.  It’s a kind of reallity show/Podcast (A Week With a G4 – Are They Obsolete?) showing us how a G4 user can survive these days with an iBook G4, it’s very cool and totally worth spending some time to wacth all the videos.  He also offers some services like fixing, selling parts, etc.

For more information, keep an eye on our blog as we are working hard to keep bringing you more and more options for your favorite PowerPC Mac.

Hard Times 

The blog MacPowerPC is currently off until further notice, I’m trying very hard to come back posting new info/apps/softwares compatible with PowerPC. This moment I really would appreciate a little bit donations, because my iBook G4 just died and I need to buy any Mac PowerPC to keep this project on, without a PowerPC machine I can’t do my research. If everyone understand my work here and would like to help me with $5 or $10 would be appreciate. Thank you very much for the support.
